Report from the 49th Board Meeting

The 49th EUROSIM Board Meeting took place in Amsterdam, July 3, 2023.

The EUROSIM Board

Main points were:

  • The Board Meeting took place during the EUROSIM Congress 2023. The Congress has been successfully carried out.
     
  • Congress Proceedings: A book of abstracts will be published online on the EUROSIM website. The Proceedings with Springer are being prepared, 53 papers have been selected.
     
  • The VESS virtual seminars was a successful experiment, continuation will be discussed.
     
  • Thanks to the VESS an extra 500 contacts have been added to the EUROSIM contact list.
     
  • Introduction of the new EUROSIM President (Agostino Bruzzone – Liophant).
     
  • The next congress, EUROSIM 2026, will be organized by Liophant. Potential venues in Italy will be considered.

From the societies:

  • ASIM is growing and organizes workshops, a symposium every two years and a conference on production and logistics every other year.
     
  • The Spanish society is working on completing the proceedings of the EUROSIM Congress 2019.
     
  • The main SIMS conference will be held this September in Sweden.
     
  • Liophant: the society is active in promoting student exchange program around Europe, and also evaluating on new formats for future conferences.
     
  • Latvian Society LSS: a new board has been elected with new activities planned.
     
  • The Russian Society has the intention to continue to be part of EUROSIM.
     
  • The next UKSIM conference will be held in Cambridge in March 2024.
